Eglin Showcases Innovation w/ ATAK

The Air Force highlighted innovations at Eglin AFB, and ATAK was one of the highlights:

Maj. Gen. Carl Schaefer, Air Force Materiel Command deputy commander, listens to Maj. Matthew Moser, 96th Test Wing, during an innovation showcase July 3 at Eglin Air Force Base.

The programs like iSpark and Continuous Process Improvement enabled 27 innovations worth $785,000 for fiscal year 2019 to date.

One of the innovations highlighted was last year’s Android Tactical Assault Kit that electronically linked up every 96th Security Forces Squadron patrol car with the dispatch.  This allowed for instantaneous communication between the two and removing excess radio chatter.

The 96th Test Wing’s explosive ordnance disposal unit has now incorporated the same technology this year.  It helps them to better communicate their involvement with suspicious packages and unexploded ordnances.
